EXHIBITS - ASSEMBLED LIFE PHOTOGRAPHIC WORKS BY THEODORE LILLIE

Assembled Life

Photographic works by Theodore Lillie

September 5 to September 30, 2006

"Assembled Life" includes images from many journeys over many years: photographing sequences, people, nature, cities, emotions. Assembling images into 3D works, cutting photographs of singular and opposing images and weaving them into original forms creates a new dialogue. Layers of the assembly are metaphors for life; by regularly dismantling parts, re-inventing dialogue and context, this work examines the creation of personal, natural and communal realities.

Theodore Lillie is a visual artist working in photography and sculpture. He is also the technical director of fulcrumProjects, an interdisciplinary performance art company fusing visual art, music and dance. His work has been exhibited at the Smith Andersen North, fulcrumProjects, Gen Art, SFMOMA, CounterPULSE, the San Francisco Art Institute Diego Rivera Gallery.
