Max Kellenberger

(b. 1956)

Max Kellenberger's expressive photographs use texture, light, and shadow to convey emotions in intimate, almost voyeuristic, images. Simple everyday scenes viewed through Kellenberger's lens become melancholy, personal stories, pulling at memories and startling with their beauty and depth. A native of Switzerland, Max Kellenberger has been exhibiting work in the United States and Europe since 1972. He lives and works in San Francisco, California.
